Hazardous Material

Just a quick thought...

I had the AWESOME opportunity of speaking to the Youth at our church on May 30th after the Sunday Evening service.

"It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. "

Acts 15: 25,26

I brought up this text and mentioned just this one thing:

If you don't hazard your life for Christ, you will hazard it for something else.

How often we get so caught up in our own little schemes with all of their pitiful goals... Our lives and our pleasure mean more to us than the Savior of the Elect! We root into the mud of this world as pigs searching for just a morsel of self-gratification that may boost our pride and soothe our conscience... Paul and Barnabas are great examples of living, as Watchman Nee put it, the normal*, Christian life...

A life that is hazarded for Jesus Christ is the only life worth living! May we seek Him everyday.

* Edited ~ Watchman Nee wrote The Normal Christian Life. Thanks Shawn & oops!!!

AMEN! We must be get it into the minds and hearts of our youth (and our adults) that we must take great risks for the glory of God. I am so thankful that you brought this important truth to our youth, especially since two of those youth are lent to me!

Did Watchman Nee say the "perfect Christian life", or "The Normal Christian Life"?
